Position Overview:
The Contract Manager (CM) is responsible for managing client contracts, subcontracts, and coordination with Client Contracts Manager and with the respective Project Director. This includes managing high-risk and large-scale contracts and subcontracts, as well as supporting complex commercial negotiations during the tender, project execution, and operations phases.In general, during the bid phase, the CM provides counsel and guidance to the Business Development / Business Acquisition (BA/BD) and Project Management Team (PMT) with their contractual, commercial, and technical expertise to offer the necessary directions for key decision making.
During the execution phase, the CM effectively manages de day-to-day contractual issues, including notifications, variation orders, claims in close coordination with the Project Director and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage pre-qualification and RFQs for the client contract and respective subcontracts. Provide consultation of post-award client contract management with the Project Management Team (PMT), including handling insurances, guarantees, security, and contract notices, amendments, change requests, warranty claims, variation orders, and contract closeout.
- Collaborate with the PMT to develop and maintain subcontracting strategies, plans, and procedures.
- Support Supply Chain Management in negotiating purchase order terms and resolving claims.

- Observe and comply with EPU general terms and conditions for placement and control of contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Define and maintain generic contract and subcontract templates.
- Draft, review, and incorporate Client Contract flowdowns to Supply Chain agreements.
- Prepare and maintain the Contracts Management working procedures, including Contract Management Plan
- Provide commercial and contractual assistance to Supply Chain Management in placing purchase orders.
- Observe the overall contracting and negotiation strategy as provided by BA/BD and the Commercial departments.
- Support BA/BD on drafting contractual clarifications to Client.
- Support BA/BD efforts on insurance and bank guarantee requirements with the Legal team.
- Ensure close collaboration with EPU Legal in the enforcement and utilization of standardized notices, contracts and amendments.
- Support and participate in developing contracting strategies and exhibits, preparing sub-contracts, in support of the tendering and award process.
- Monitor performance and compliance with contractual requirements, including Client Contract deliverables, expedite disciplines as necessary, and highlight potential areas of concern.
- Contribute to commercial and contractual awareness across the project team throughout the project's life.
- Identify, highlight, and present contract liability issues, key risks, and relevant clauses to the project team, and provide associated support for decision making.
- Support with project correspondences and negotiations to client and subcontractors.
- Ensure the follow up on payment milestones and support payment processes.
- Maintain a compliant and auditable contractual management system.
- Participate in and provide input to risk and opportunities management process during tendering and project execution.
- Ensure warranty conditions are managed and applied in line with contract provisions.
- Support the management of project liabilities minimizing LD's within the Client Contract.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of commercial/contracts experience managing offshore EPCI projects within the Oil and Gas industry.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial/contract/legal department manager experience.
- Good proficiency in English
- Excellent contracting skills (i.e. drafting, negotiation): Drafting and negotiating agreements effectively, using financial and risk management insights for better decisions.
- Flexible and motivated: Adapting to changes easily and solving complex problems efficiently.
- Able to work independently, making timely decisions, and planning strategically.
