About the Role

As a Section Manager for Supply Chain Section in a manufacturing plant, your primary responsibility will be to assist the Department Manager to oversee the daily operations of the department. You will be responsible for ensuring that the section runs efficiently and effectively in order to meet the production and supply chain needs of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Assist to ensure on time delivery & Inventory control
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as production, sales, and finance, to ensure that inventory levels are properly managed and that orders are fulfilled on time.
Support in building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure that the organization has a reliable supply chain.
Assist to monitor to comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
Establish buddy system
  • Strengthen communication within Department, cross training, cultural socialization and peer support.
Continuously improving supply chain processes technologies and tools.
  • Analyzing data and creating reports to track departmental performance, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for process improvements.
Manage & plan operations & workforce deployment in Supply Chain Section
  • Oversee current workflow & continuous improvement in productivity & quality of work
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects when assigned
Ensure all aspects of Safety & 5S are observed and maintained
  • Enforce all staff observe SOP & safe work procedure.
  • Teamwork & implement progress to maintain good housekeeping.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Hazardous Substance Management, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) will be of added advantage.
  • Continuous improvement mindset: A commitment to continuous improvement, including a willingness to embrace change and drive improvements in processes, systems, and performance.
  • Compliance: Keep abreast and understand relevant regulations and compliance requirements, including environmental, safety, and trade compliance regulations.
  • Communication skills: Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, communicate effectively, and provide clear and concise instructions and feedback.
  • Initiative: A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement, with a willingness to take ownership of issues and drive solutions.
  • Cultural sensitivity: A deep understanding of different cultures and the ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in supply chain operations, including experience in leading and supervising a team. Experience in the manufacturing industry will be preferred.
  • Compliance experience: Experience in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as environmental regulations, safety regulations, and trade compliance regulations.
  • Cross-functional experience: Experience working with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, finance, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of supply chain processes.
  • Continuous improvement experience: Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Having experience working in a Japanese/Chinese manufacturing MNC is a plus.
  • Computer literate
  • Sensitive to number & Strong in data analysis
  • Hand-on, and having strong operational competencies in logistics processes, procurement strategies and inventory management practices, and transportation.
  • Leadership: The ability to lead and manage a team and establish a positive and productive work culture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends and patterns, and able to recommend solutions to solve problems and improve processes.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, inventory management systems, and logistics software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Handle ad-hoc task flexibly.

  • Applicants can work in Singapore without requiring a work pass.
  • Working hours: 8:00-4:45 pm (Mon - Fri)
