Role Overview
The role of Finance & Operations Executive is a hands-on and detail-oriented role supporting the company’s financial management and day-to-day operational activities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an SME environment, combining accounting responsibilities with commercial and operational support.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cost analysis, and ensuring smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Compliance- Maintain full set of accounts (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger)
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities
- Prepare financial reports and schedules as required
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements
- Support accounting and coordination for overseas entities (e.g. US entity)
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
- Manage accounts payable, including vendor payments and reconciliation
- Handle billing, invoicing, and issuance of debit/credit notes
- Respond to and resolve customer and supplier queries
- Track and analyse costs, sales, margins, and overall profitability
- Support product costing, including:
- Variable raw material pricing (e.g. metal pricing)
- Freight, duties, tariffs, and other landed costs
- Assist in computing accurate Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) costs
- Maintain and update costing models and reports
- Assist in managing supplier prepayments and cost tracking
- Compile and verify procurement, logistics, and product cost data
- Provide operational support to ensure smooth day-to-day business flow
- Support general office administration tasks as required
- Process payroll and ensure timely CPF contributions
- Handle employee-related statutory submissions (IRAS, CPF)
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local regulations
Requirements
Qualifications- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ACCA / CPA (partially or fully qualified) is an advantage
- Minimum 3–6 years of relevant experience
- Experience in handling full set of accounts
- Prior experience in an SME environment preferred
- Exposure to trading, distribution, or import/export businesses is a plus
- Experience with multi-currency transactions is advantageous
- Epicor ERP experience an advantage
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (essential for costing and analysis)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Commercial awareness and ability to understand cost structures
- Good communication skills for handling internal and external stakeholders
- Hands-on, proactive, and willing to take ownership
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, SME environment
- Adaptable and able to support both finance and operational functions
