Deputy Editor - A leading B2B Media Organization
Our client is a leading international B2B media organisation that serves the marketing and communications community through news, analysis, data products and industry events. We are looking for an experienced Deputy Editor to help drive agenda-setting coverage across Asia-Pacific, with a focus on Singapore.
About the role
You will combine daily news reporting with broader editorial leadership, overseeing both fast-turnaround stories and longer-term projects across digital platforms and live events. Your time will be split between producing high-impact journalism, planning future features, and managing flagship editorial initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead weekly planning meetings for major editorial projects such as industry rankings, performance reviews and power lists.
- Support the editor in assigning, scheduling and ensuring delivery of a lead feature or news story for each weekday bulletin.
- Track and interpret digital engagement metrics, working with the editor to grow and deepen audience interaction.
- Edit and polish copy from reporters, providing constructive feedback and mentoring to elevate overall editorial quality.
- Act as a senior editorial figurehead, modelling high standards, strong work ethic and professionalism in front of the industry.
- Maintain effective working relationships with commercial teams.
- Build and nurture a robust network of senior marketing and marcomms contacts across the region, with particular emphasis on Singapore.
- Produce and publish a minimum of five pieces of content per week across platforms (web, social, multimedia), including at least one major feature or lead story.
- Contribute story ideas in daily editorial meetings and take on news reporting assignments as required.
- Attend, cover and occasionally moderate panels, roundtables and industry events across the region.
Requirements:
- At least 6 years’ journalism experience.
- Exceptionally organised, self-driven and comfortable juggling multiple deadlines and projects.
- Demonstrated passion for journalism, with strong writing and editing skills and a track record of breaking or owning industry stories.
- Proven ability to motivate and guide reporters, helping them secure exclusives and sharpen their storytelling.
- Strong people management and influencing skills, with the confidence to collaborate across teams and levels.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, digitally focused newsroom.
- Excellent communication and ambassadorial skills, with the credibility to represent the brand at senior industry forums.
