The Research Assistant’s core duty is to assist the research manager with executing research projects, in which findings from the research aim to improve the organisation’s service delivery for beneficiaries of the cancer care programmes. To work closely with the Serenity Cancer Care and Young Heroes Cancer Care centers.
Reports to the Manager of the Young Heroes Cancer Care center.
- Recruitment: Data collection and collation
- Assist research manager with participants recruitment
- Ensure that participants match the profiles of the intended research target group
- Design posters for participation recruitment
- Data collection and collation
- Observe research ethics when coordinating, meeting and carrying out research experiments to the participants
- Coordinate sessions for participants to take part in quantitative and qualitative research
- Ensure that participants understand and complete the informed consent before collecting data from the participants
- Conduct face-to-face interviews for research either through home visits or at the center
- Explain (or translate when needed) research questions to participants
- Record incentives that are given to participants
- Data analysis
- Assist research manager in data analysis, report and manuscript writing
- Ensure that data are kept as per stated in ERC form
- Write meeting minutes for all meetings (internal and with external agencies)
