Assumption Pathway School (APS) is a Catholic institution established in 2009 through a joint initiative by the Ministry of Education, Institute of Technical Education, and St Gabriel's Foundation. Offering an enriched curriculum in foundational subjects and character education, APS provides an alternative pathway for students who do not qualify for mainstream secondary education, nurturing them to achieve personal success in all aspects of life.

BROAD FUNCTIONS

As a Job Coach at Assumption Pathway School, you will play a vital role in delivering holistic education aligned with the school's vision and values, shaping students' competencies, character, and lifelong values. You will support and mentor students with diverse learning needs and behavioural challenges, providing guidance and workplace coaching to help them reach their fullest potential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching & Learning Excellence
  • Deliver high-quality training to develop students' life skills, critical thinking, communication, self-management, and professional workplace behaviours within hospitality operations.
  • Provide career guidance and employability coaching to help students gain a clear understanding of industry expectations, employer requirements, and career opportunities.
Curriculum Delivery & Assessment
  • Plan, prepare, deliver, assess and monitor students learning in alignment with curriculum standards and school expectations, including setting individual student targets.
  • Supervise the curriculum assessment processes for Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) courses.
Holistic Student Development
  • Plan and facilitate Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) programmes that nurture students’ values, social-emotional competencies, and essential life skills.
  • Monitor students' academic progress and development, and communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and relevant stakeholders through parent meetings, case conferences, and home visits.
  • Maintain a safe and conducive learning environment that promotes student well-being and success.
Collaboration & Professional Contribution
  • Actively engage in departmental initiatives, school activities, and ongoing professional development programmes.
  • Support the effective management and operation of training facilities, including restaurants, cafés, kitchens and on-the-job training outlets.
  • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating industry trends, innovative service concepts, and current hospitality practices into training and restaurant operations.
  • Manage operational resources, including equipment, inventories, budgets, stock control, and facility maintenance and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
School Community Engagement
  • Manage daily administrative documentation in compliance with organisational requirements and maintain accurate student attendance records.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably assigned by the school.
JOB REQUIREMENT
  • Possess at least a Diploma in Food and Beverage (F&B) Service, Retail, Hospitality Services or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience in hospitality operations, particularly in food and beverage or restaurant settings.
  • Relevant teaching or training qualifications, such as Advanced Certificate in Technical Education Programme (ACTEP), Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP), Pedagogical Certificate in Technical Education (PCTE) or Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) will be an advantage.
  • Passionate about engaging, educating and inspiring at-risk youths (age 17 to 21) disadvantaged youths and low progress learners.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching and management skills complemented by good problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
