Technical Project Manager – AWS Cloud Infrastructure

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead and govern a complex AWS cloud infrastructure build involving multi‑account architecture, secure ingress/egress design, network firewalls, WAF, API enablement, and UAT/Production environments.

This role requires strong AWS infrastructure knowledge, particularly in networking and security, combined with end‑to‑end project delivery expertise. The TPM will act as the bridge between cloud engineers, security teams, application teams, and business stakeholders, ensuring delivery is on time, secure, and compliant with enterprise standards.

1. Project Planning & Governance

• Own the end‑to‑end delivery of AWS cloud setup initiatives across UAT and Production environments.
• Define and manage project scope, milestones, dependencies, timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Establish and maintain project governance, RAID logs, change control, and delivery reporting.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise cloud, security, and compliance standards.

1. AWS Infrastructure & Networking Oversight

• Lead projects involving:
• AWS multi‑account strategy (Internet & Intranet segregation)
• VPC design, subnets, route tables, and security groups
• Ingress and Egress architectures (Internet / Intranet)
• AWS Network Firewall and native firewall configurations
• Cross‑zone connectivity
• Validate architectural designs and ensure solutions align with AWS best practices and security principles.

1. Security, Firewall & Traffic Management

• Coordinate implementation of:
• AWS Network Firewall
• AWS WAF for API and internet-facing workloads
• Secure north‑south and east‑west traffic flows
• Work closely with security, risk, and compliance teams to manage approvals and risk acceptance.
• Ensure testing, verification, and sign‑off for ingress/egress and firewall rules.

1. API, Load Balancing & Managed Services Delivery

• Manage delivery of:
• Central API architecture (Internet & Intranet) with WAF
• Network Load Balancer (NLB) configuration and validation
• AWS Transfer Family implementations across UAT and PROD
• Ensure proper integration between infrastructure, applications, and connectivity services.

1. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Act as the single point of accountability for internal teams and external vendors.
• Translate technical concepts into clear, executive‑level updates for senior stakeholders.
• Facilitate technical workshops, design walkthroughs, and readiness reviews.

1. Testing, Documentation & Operational Readiness

• Oversee:
• Ingress and egress testing across UAT and PROD
• Creation and review of design documents and runbooks
• Ensure solutions are operationally ready, supportable, and handed over to operations teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of IT project management experience, with 5+ years managing cloud infrastructure projects.
• Proven delivery experience in AWS environments, especially network‑ and security‑heavy projects.
• Strong understanding of:
• AWS VPC, subnets, routing, security groups
• AWS Network Firewall, WAF
• Internet vs Intranet architectures
• UAT and Production environment separation

• Ability to understand and challenge AWS network and security designs.
• Experience managing projects involving:
• Ingress / Egress patterns
• Load balancers (NLB preferred)
• API gateways / central API patterns
• Managed AWS services (e.g., AWS Transfer Family)
• Familiarity with AWS Well‑Architected Framework, especially Security and Reliability pillars.

• Strong command of Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery models.
• Hands‑on experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Confluence).
• Excellent risk management, dependency tracking, and issue escalation skills.
• Ability to operate in regulated or enterprise environments with formal approvals.

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, or Cloud Practitioner).
• Experience working with security, network, and platform engineering teams.
• Exposure to financial services, government, or large enterprise cloud programs.
