Junior design / project mechanical engineer – semiconductor construction

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in mechanical design and project coordination for semiconductor construction projects.
• Support the development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, ultra-pure water (UPW), cleanroom ventilation, process piping, and gas distribution.
• Assist in equipment sizing, load calculations, and material selection for mechanical systems.
• Support installation and commissioning of pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, cooling towers, and other mechanical equipment.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, and process engineering teams to ensure seamless project integration.
• Follow cleanroom and contamination control protocols during construction.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues during start-up.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
• Learn and adhere to Singapore’s BCA, WSH regulations, and NEA standards.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Exposure or internship experience in mechanical design, HVAC, process piping, UPW, or gas distribution is a plus.
• Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit is preferred.
• Basic understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and structural integrity.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Willingness to learn and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, suppliers and project counterparts.
• Willingness to work extended hours or shift arrangements where reasonably required to meet project delivery timelines.
