Medical Laboratory Technologist (Renal Medicine)

The laboratory conducts specialised investigations for renal patients, assist in environment, health & safety program (EHS) and participation in collaborative studies with clinicians. The Medical Laboratory Technologist conducts routine laboratory tests, specialised investigations, assists in quality control programs and participates in the training of other technologists.

Job Description (The responsibilities include but are not limited to):

• Assist physicians in performing renal biopsy procedures, including ultrasound image optimisation and verifying the results using a stereomicroscope.
• Communicating results to stakeholders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Timely preparation and maintenance of reagents and laboratory material required for routine, specialised tests, and research projects.
• Participate in collaborative research and data collection.
• Compliance with protocols to ensure that potential risks/problems are minimised
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Science, Life Sciences, Medical Technology or equivalent, with minimum 1 year of relevant job experience and demonstrated competency, or
• Diploma in Biomedical Science, Medical Technology or equivalent, with minimum 3 years of relevant job experience and demonstrated competence
• Can work well both independently and in a team
• Possesses good interpersonal skills and leads by example
