Develop and execute commodity trading strategies for the South American market
Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments
Identify, evaluate, and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities, supply/demand imbalances, and pricing discrepancies
Actively seek new trading opportunities to optimize profitability
Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement effective hedging strategies to mitigate market exposure
Build and maintain strong relationships with key market participants, including producers, consumers, brokers, and financial institutions in South America

skills and experience required

At least 8 years of direct experience in non-ferrous metals commodity trading, with a significant portion focused on the South American market
Demonstrable expertise in trading relevant commodities (e.g., copper, iron ore, gold, silver, industrial minerals)
In-depth understanding of South American market dynamics, logistics, regulatory frameworks, and cultural nuances
Proven ability to develop and execute profitable trading strategies
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel frequently within South America
Existing network of contacts within the South American mining and commodity trading sectors
Experience with risk management software and trading platforms
Familiarity with structured trade finance and hedging instruments
