Job Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager - Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense claims, and payments while maintaining compliance with internal controls and company policies.

The Assistant Manager also supports AP daily forecast, month-end closing/reporting, vendor reconciliations, audits, and assists in process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist manager in supervising and leading AP team.
  • Reviewing and approving invoices, expense report and payment request.
  • Resolving escalated issues, discrepancies with vendors, internal stakeholders or team members.
  • Handling vendor relationships, negotiations and dispute resolutions.
  • Monitoring payment schedules and ensuring timely payment processing.
  • Developing and implementing AP policies, procedures and controls to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Providing training and guidance to AP team members on processes systems and best practices.
  • Analyzing AP data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings and risk mitigations.
  • Assisting with audits and compliance reviews related to AP functions.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize procurement processes, invoice management and payment cycles.
  • Preparing daily/weekly AP forecasts and support month-end/year-end closing and reporting.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, professional qualifications would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in accounts payable.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) will be an added advantage.
Skills
  • Meticulous and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive working attitude and ability to work in a dynamic and face-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle high volume of transactions.
  • Able to multi-task, work independently and meet tight timelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, especially MS Excels.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations (e.g. GST, VAT).
  • Problem solving mindset with a focus on process improvement.
Job Location & Schedule
  • Genting Centre
  • 5 days/week in-office
  • Flexibility to support occasional weekend work during critical reporting periods (e.g., month-end closing) may be required.
