Rewards Consulting Practice Leader, Southeast Asia

We are seeking a talented individual to lead the Mercer Rewards Consulting Practice for Southeast Asia. This role will be based in Singapore. This role will be responsible for spearheading and elevating the broad-based Rewards Consulting Practice across the region and is accountable for the delivery of innovative, market-leading solutions that empower organizations to attract, engage, and retain talent across multiple Southeast Asian markets.
The successful candidate will have a pivotal role in expanding and strengthening Mercer’s rewards consulting footprint across diverse markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and beyond. They will lead the practice’s strategic direction, business development, and client engagement efforts, while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the team.

We require a leader with strong, visible and reputable leadership in the marketplace with the ability to win new business, as well as commercial acumen, technical proficiency in Rewards, a deep understanding of the trends and opportunities for the business, and outstanding team leadership & management.

We will count on you to:

Regional Leadership & Strategic Vision
  • Lead the development and execution of a compelling regional strategy for the Rewards Consulting Practice, driving sustainable growth, profitability, and market leadership across Southeast Asia.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop a diverse team of consultants across multiple countries, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and high performance.
  • Serve as a recognized thought leader and trusted advisor in the Southeast Asia rewards consulting landscape, representing Mercer at industry forums, conferences, and client events.
Practice Growth & Client Engagement
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities across Southeast Asia, expanding Mercer’s client base and deepening relationships with existing clients.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Executive Compensation, Talent, and Transformation—to deliver integrated, client-centric solutions tailored to regional market dynamics.
  • Stay abreast of regional market trends, regulatory developments, and cultural nuances to continuously enhance and adapt Mercer’s broad-based rewards offerings.
Team Development & Talent Management
  • Attract, recruit, and retain top talent with regional expertise and cultural agility to build a high-performing, diverse consulting team.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to maximize team potential and engagement.
  • Cultivate a cohesive, motivated team culture that consistently delivers exceptional client outcomes and drives Mercer’s reputation as a leader in rewards consulting.

What you need to have:

  • Proven leadership experience in broad-based rewards consulting or related HR consulting practice, ideally within Southeast Asia or comparable emerging markets.
  • Strong track record of leading and growing consulting practices with significant client interaction at senior and C-suite levels.
  • Deep understanding of Southeast Asia’s diverse corporate environments, regulatory frameworks, and cultural contexts influencing rewards strategy and implementation.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and revenue growth in a competitive consulting landscape.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across cultures and geographies.
  • Advanced degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or related fields preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional, Global Remuneration Professional) are advantageous.
  • Multilingual capabilities and cultural agility highly valued.
