Job Purpose
PMC Engineer (Production and Material Control Engineer) is responsible for ensuring that the materials required for manufacturing processes and projects are available when needed, in the correct quantities, and at the right cost.
PMC Engineer is also responsible for planning and organizing production schedules, assessing project and resource requirements, and ensuring that the manufacturing processes run efficiently and meet the required deadlines and quality standards.
Responsibilities- Monitor and manage inventory levels of materials and components required for production. Ensure materials are available for production schedules and customer orders without causing excess inventory or stock shortages.
- Work closely with suppliers, purchasing department, and production teams to coordinate supply chain activities. Ensure timely delivery of materials, addressing any delays or issues that may impact production schedules.
- Analyze production requirements and forecast future material needs. Utilize historical data, sales trends, and production schedules to accurately forecast demand.
- Place orders for materials and track their progress from supplier to warehouse to production. Ensure that purchase orders are filled accurately and delivered on time.
- Work with suppliers and the purchasing department to negotiate costs, seek out cost-saving opportunities, and manage budget constraints without compromising quality or production timelines.
- Collaborate with the quality control department to ensure that incoming materials meet required standards and specifications. Address and resolve quality issues with suppliers when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, material orders, and supplier performance. Prepare reports on inventory, ordering patterns, and cost analyses.
- Work closely with manager to identify training needs, skills gaps, and opportunities for team development. Participate in the planning and implementation of team-building activities, training sessions, and workshops to enhance productivity, morale, and teamwork. Provide feedback and suggestions to improve team performance and address challenges.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or related field.
- Prior experience as a Material Planner, Inventory Coordinator, or similar role in an equipment manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience as a Production Planner, Scheduler, or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in equipment or heavy machinery manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to multitask and manage priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with working in the office, Monday to Friday.
