The Role
Astor International Preschool is seeking a caring, proactive, and enthusiastic Teacher Assistant to support teaching and learning across the preschool. The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning, wellbeing, and engagement, particularly for students requiring additional support.

Key Responsibilities
Student Support- Work with young children in small groups, 1:1 settings, or within the classroom.
- Support students with additional learning needs, both academically and socially.
- Assist in implementing strategies and interventions planned by the classroom teacher.
- Encourage student independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
- Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
- Prepare and organise learning materials and resources.
- Support classroom management and help maintain a positive learning environment.
- Supervise students during lessons, transitions, and activities.
- Work closely with the classroom teacher to monitor and support student progress.
- Share relevant observations about student learning and wellbeing.
- Support communication with parents when required.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
- Support differentiated instruction by working with students at varying ability levels.
- Provide encouragement and feedback to help students stay engaged and motivated.
- Assist with classroom routines and daily structure.
- Support the delivery of the curriculum under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Assist in preparing resources for lessons across learning areas.
- Help facilitate hands-on and inquiry-based learning activities.
- Support school activities such as excursions, performances, and events.
- Provide active supervision during school hours and activities.
- Assist with extracurricular activities where required.
- Be present on campus from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday (with flexibility as needed).
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the wider school team.
- Foster a respectful, supportive, and inclusive school environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Support the school’s values and contribute to the wider school community.
- Follow all school policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
- Support general classroom and school organisation.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the leadership team.
- Good level of spoken and written English.
- Relevant experience working with children (school or childcare setting preferred).
- ECDA L1 Certified Teacher
- Experience supporting students with additional learning needs is a plus.
- A positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude.
- Passion for working with children and supporting their development.
