Job Description:
- Regulatory research and Database development
- Track and implement UN ECE R series regulation and EU WVTA regulations related to electric heavy trucks.
- Study the specific regulations and certification processes for new energy commercial vehicles in Southeast Asia regarding access, safety, electric powertrain, high voltage, EMC, energy consumption/range, and battery recycling.
- Establish and maintain a global (focusing on Southeast Asia and the EU) regulatory database, regularly producing regulatory updates, differences comparison, compliance risk assessment, and early warning reports.
- Focus on researching specific requirements for high-voltage safety, battery systems, motor/electric control, BMS, thermal management, vehicle EMC, braking/steering/lighting, and overall vehicle safety.
- Regulatory compliance support during the product development stage
- Deeply participate in product project initiation, scheme design, and prototype vehicle trial production stages, providing compliance checklists, design constraints, key component requirements, and prohibited/mandatory configurations related to Southeast Asian and ECE regulations.
- Cooperate with the R&D team to conduct regulatory training and interpretation, guiding R&D team to avoid regulatory risks.
- Assist the R&D team in regulatory compliance reviews, checking the conformity of vehicle configurations, critical components, software versions, high voltage, insulation, and protection.
- Southeast Asia and ECE certification project management
- Lead the entire process of electric truck certification in Southeast Asia and ECE/WVTA.
- Responsible for the planning and implementation of core certifications such as ECE R series E-Mark, Thailand DLT+TISI, Malaysia VTA, Indonesia SNI, Vietnam type inspection, etc.
- Connect with the certification bodies of ECE member countries, the local Ministry of Transportation/Ministry of Industry in Southeast Asia, TISI/JPJ/DGLT, and third-party laboratories (including new energy high-voltage/battery/EMC qualifications) to coordinate test scheduling, technical communication, non-conformity rectification, report and certificate issuance.
- Manage and control certification progress, nodes, costs, and risks to ensure that it matches overseas listing and mass production plans;
- Production consistency and after-sales compliance
- Establish a Southeast Asia + ECE certification consistency management and control system: certification configuration library, key parts (including powertrain/high voltage) filing, change management, production consistency inspection plan and execution.
- Support local factory certification compliance inspection to ensure that spare parts, local parts and assembly processes meet certification requirements.
- Provide regulatory and certification technical support for sales and after-sales, and answer questions about access, licensing, compliance, labeling/identification (such as E-Mark, Thailand ECO Sticker), etc.
- Team capacity building and cross-department collaboration
- Organize internal ECE+ Southeast Asian electric heavy truck regulatory training to improve the compliance awareness of the R&D, quality, supply chain, and sales teams.
- Collaborate with R&D, testing, quality, procurement, supply chain, overseas sales, and production plants to promote the implementation of regulatory requirements in the entire chain of design, parts, testing, production, and delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in vehicle engineering, mechanical design, automotive electronics and other related majors.
- 5 years or more of experience in commercial vehicle regulatory certification, at least 2 years of experience in complete vehicle certification for electric heavy trucks, and those with experience in implementing complete model certification in the Southeast Asian market are preferred.
- Experienced in UN ECE R series regulations and capable of independently interpreting clauses and converting them into technical requirements.
- Experienced in local access regulations and approval processes of Southeast Asian countries.
- Experienced inelectric truck powertrain/high-voltage special regulations, such as battery safety, BMS functional safety,
- Hands-on experience in the entire process of E-Mark application, testing, reporting, and certification, capable of preparing the complete technical documents for ECE certification.
- Experienced in the preparation, translation, submission, on-site audit, and rectification of Southeast Asian certification documents, with experience liaising with local transport authorities/certification bodies.
- Familiar with new energy high-voltage/battery/EMC testing projects, standards, and laboratory requirements, capable of developing test plans, tracking tests, analysing data, and guiding rectification.
- Strong awareness of regulations and attention to detail, rigorous, patient, and highly responsible.
- Excellent project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously, coordinating across organisations, and communicating and driving efficiently.
