Toa Payoh - Associate Director of AI, Business Process Optimisation
JOB SUMMARY
This role sits under the CIB Frontline Insights and Analytics team in the broader CIB Business Performance and Enablement Global team, under CIB Chief of Staff. The team is responsible for the design and development of Dashboards and Insights for the CIB Frontline Bankers and Sales to measure revenue, balance sheet, wallet size, pipeline, collaborate and identify opportunities to grow revenue, expand the client networks.
We are seeking a dynamic AD of AI, Business Process Optimisation to drive the identification, definition, and realization of impactful AI use cases within our Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) business. This role is responsible for engaging directly with frontline bankers, product teams, and business stakeholders to support CIB in effectively using the AI technology made available to them, as well as help shape the tools and platforms that should be made available to the frontline to effectively leverage AI capabilities.The role holder should be able to translate business needs into actionable use cases, and partner with product owners, technology and change management teams to deliver meaningful, scalable AI solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
AI Transformation
Support CoS in driving a transformative AI strategy for the Frontline by developing objectives, roadmap, and use cases for Coverage and Product teams.Master the AI lifecycle and support the implementation of the various use cases working closely with Platform and Data teams.
Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI applications and trends and opportunities applicable to financial services.
Business
Business Engagement & Use Case Development
Engage and collaborate with business stakeholders across CIB (e.g. CIB management, frontline and product teams) to identify high-impact AI opportunities.Lead workshops and discovery sessions to gather requirements and define strategic use cases.
Translate business needs into clear, prioritized AI product requirements based on business impact, technical feasibility, and risk considerations that are suitable for AI solutioning in collaboration with product owner and technical teams
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive management and Global teams.
Cross-Functional Communication & Product Delivery
Act as the “voice of the business” in AI solution design and delivery, being a strategic interface between business stakeholders and technical teams.Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and engineers to ensure clear translation of requirements into practical AI solutions to meet frontline needs.
Provide business context and success metrics to guide development and testing.
Change Management & CommunicationsPartner with change and communications teams to define and execute a go-to-market and adoption strategy.
Support development of training, comms, and engagement plans to drive adoption and readiness across teamsGather and act on feedback post-launch to refine product capabilities and communications.
Measurement & Continuous ImprovementDefine KPIs and success metrics to evaluate AI product performance with business and product owners
Drive continuous improvement through regular feedback loops with users and business leaders.
ProcessesCollaborate with business process owners to embed AI solutions into existing workflows, systems, and decision points.
Map AI use cases to operational processes to ensure alignment with frontline activities and regulatory expectations.
Establish and align new AI processes with existing technology and change delivery frameworks.
People & Talent
Champion AI literacy across CIB acting as an internal advocate to build awareness and understand of AI concepts, capabilities, and limitations among frontline and business stakeholders.Provide guidance and mentorship to business users and products teams on how to identify and evaluate AI opportunities.
Stay up to date on emerging AI trends and tools
Risk Management and Governance
Ensure awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.Deliver effective governance in compliance with applicable internal policies and external laws and regulations, overseeing changes in business controls as required.
Ensure alignment with SCB RAI governance policy, assist in preparation and delivery of Business Use cases to RAI Governance Forum for Approval.

Our Ideal Candidate
7+ years of experience in financial services, consulting, or AI-related roles, ideally with exposure within Corporate & Institutional Banking.Proven experience defining and delivering AI or data-driven solutions within a complex enterprise environment.
Strong track record of engaging business stakeholders and translating needs into clear business requirements.
Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and solution lifecycles, especially their practical application in business environments; experience working with data science teams preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
Experience partnering with change management and comms teams to deliver business readiness and adoption.
Background in Corporate & Institutional Banking or financial services is highly desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in business, Data science, Computer science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
