About the Role:

The Senior Manager of Public Relations will oversee proactive communications strategy for Disney Cruise Line during an unprecedented period of expansion. This role will lead and execute strategic PR plans, including editorial writing, project management, creative content and media relations for our expanding fleet of cruise ships and tropical Disney destinations.

This position reports to the Director of Public Relations, Disney Signature Experiences.

The Senior Manager of Public Relations will:

  • Oversee strategic communication planning and execution
  • Build creative, inclusive and impactful narratives to drive key business priorities
  • Ideate, oversee and execute various PR programs, including product announcements, stunts, media events and more
  • Lead concept development and production of creative content
  • Supervise international publicity strategy, working with public relations agencies and internal partners in select international markets
  • Oversee budget management and develop tactics based on strategic business priorities
  • Partner with cross-company teams to collaborate, integrate and cultivate fresh ideas
  • Develop, mentor and lead a high-performing team
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8+ years professional experience in communications and public relations, including leadership of others
  • Proven understanding of the Disney Cruise Line product and the cruise industry
  • Excellent knowledge of Associated Press style guidelines
  • Extensive writing and editing experience
  • Visual storyteller with an understanding of design aesthetics
  • Able to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment, often after hours and on weekends
  • Available to travel for projects and work remotely
  • Ability to handle confidential information

Earned and Owned:

  • Deep knowledge of the earned media landscape
  • Demonstrated track record of placing and shaping stories
  • Understanding of social media platforms, concepts and strategy

Creative Content:

  • Experience concepting and producing editorial and creative photo/video content: b-roll, VNRs, SMTs, hyperlapses, explainer videos, serial content, etc.
  • Able to create visually compelling presentations in Keynote/PowerPoint/Canva or similar app

Business Acumen:

  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter
  • Proven experience in multi-tasking and working effectively under pressure
  • Able to develop and share creative, innovative ideas
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to work
  • Proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Must possess excellent networking, partnering and organizational skills
  • Able to work comfortably with Cast Members at all levels
  • Able to work in an environment that promotes and celebrates diversity and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and ability to navigate the Disney Experiences organization
  • Knowledge of Disney Cruise Line
  • Understanding of the cruise and travel industries
  • Command of Adobe Creative Suite or other design apps

Required Education:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
