Toa Payoh - Assistant vice president / senior manager (strategic projects) (1-year contract)

The Assistant Vice President / Senior Manager (Strategic Projects) will play a pivotal role in driving strategic business initiatives at Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC). Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Vice President (Corporate Services), Vice President (Operations) and Management Team, you will support strategic initiatives, be exposed to operational strategy & planning, and commercial opportunities for the Company.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to SCC’s growth and transformation as we prepare to transit to our new terminal. You will work with internal teams, government agencies, and both local and international business partners to explore new opportunities and strengthen SCC’s strategic positioning.

Responsibilities:

Key Deliverables – Strategic Projects:

• Support SCC’s participation in strategic studies and business reviews.
• Consolidate, analyse, and prepare essential inputs for external stakeholders and consultants, ensuring SCC’s position and requirements are accurately represented.
• Engage directly with government agencies, preparing structured updates, notes, and minutes of key meetings for timely submissions.
• Plan, organise, and facilitate joint meetings, while contributing actively to discussions and shaping outcomes.
• Deliver strategic analysis, options, and recommendations that inform SCC’s leadership and support decision-making.
• Partner with Operations team to drive forward key development projects.
• Translate project concepts into clear action plans and deliverables, ensuring progress is tracked and outcomes are achieved.
• Provide regular, structured updates to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring visibility and accountability across projects.
• Play a pivotal role in unlocking new operational and commercial opportunities.

Strategic Operations Planning & Reporting:

This role also offers exposure to broader strategic and operational initiatives, enabling you to build cross-functional insights and contribute to SCC’s ongoing transformation:

• Assist in strategy planning, supporting Operations and Marketing in initiatives to enhance ferry traffic growth and destination-focused marketing.
• Participate in selected stakeholder engagements, gaining exposure to discussions on aligning operational capacity with market opportunities.
• Be involved in contributing to operational strategy and transformation initiatives.
• Undertake adhoc strategic assignments, providing opportunities to broaden your exposure to SCC’s evolving business priorities.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines; MBA would be an advatage.
• At least 6-8 years of work experience
• Excellent communication and written skills and strong analytical skills.
• Candidates with exposure to policy work in the public sector in the area of transport or consulting work would be at an advantage. Past experience as management consultants would be a distinct advantage.
• High energy and versatile and an openness to be being exposed to new areas; a good team player but can also work independently as needed.
