Role Purpose

The role requires strong technical capability, sound problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.

This role will also contribute to the responsible adoption of Generative AI and emerging agentic AI patterns, ensuring solutions are scalable, well governed, and aligned with enterprise standards.

We are looking for a dynamic team player to join us at DHL Express Global Head Office located in Singapore.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities and define data science and AI strategies, objectives, and priorities aligned with business needs.
• Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and clarity of analytics and AI solution requirements.
• Lead the development, validation, and deployment of predictive models, machine learning, and selected Generative AI solutions into production environments.
• Apply appropriate techniques across classical ML, statistical modelling, and Generative AI (e.g. large language models, retrieval‑augmented generation) depending on the problem context.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of AI‑enabled solutions that may include autonomous or semi‑autonomous agent workflows under defined guardrails.
• Provide data science and AI input throughout the solution lifecycle, including design, development, implementation, monitoring, and service level performance of major analytics solutions.
• Configure and implement data science and AI models using agreed technology components (e.g. Python‑based frameworks, ML platforms, GenAI services).
• Support model performance monitoring, evaluation, and controls, including explainability, bias, and risk considerations where applicable.
• Manage and prioritise multiple initiatives or deployments concurrently while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
• Own analytics quality assurance and testing activities within the assigned domain.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to data scientists within product or solution delivery teams, including emerging AI capabilities.
• Independently manage proof‑of‑concept initiatives or defined components of larger projects, including AI experiments and feasibility assessments.
• Communicate data science and AI concepts, progress, and outcomes clearly to senior management and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of advancements in data science, Generative AI, and agent‑based AI approaches, and assess their applicability to DHL’s business and operating environment.

• Minimally degree or equivalent in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g. Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines).
• Preferably 7 years’ experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science, with exposure to production‑level solutions.
• Strong practical experience applying statistical and machine learning techniques to real‑world business problems.
• Hands‑on experience or strong working knowledge of Generative AI concepts and applications (e.g. large language models, prompt design, retrieval‑augmented generation, AI‑assisted automation).
• Exposure to designing or integrating AI agents or workflow‑based AI systems is an advantage.
• Proficiency in common data science tools and languages such as Python and SQL, and experience with data visualisation or reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery approaches and DataOps, MLOps, or AI lifecycle management practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional and geographically diverse teams.
• Exposure to logistics operations, sales, customer management, pricing, finance, or customer service.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and AI‑related concepts clearly and concisely.
• A structured, analytical, and solution‑oriented mindset, with sound business awareness.
