Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality acquisition of ingredients, materials, and services essential to our food and beverage operations.The successful candidate will maintain strong supplier relationships, manage the end-to-end procurement process, and contribute to supply chain stability in alignment with our company’s traditional values and long-term business goals.
Responsibilities:
Develop Strategic Purchasing Plans- Formulate and execute procurement strategies that align with company goals, operational demands, and cost-control initiatives.
- Periodically review and adjust procurement strategies based on business trends, seasonal needs, and market developments.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers of food ingredients, packaging materials, kitchen equipment, and related services.
- Establish and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with key vendors to ensure consistent quality and service.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations (e.g., price competitiveness, delivery reliability, product quality).
- Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions to ensure favorable terms for the company.
- Draft, review, and manage supplier agreements in coordination with legal or relevant departments, ensuring risk mitigation.
- Supervise the entire procurement cycle from purchase requisition, purchase order issuance, delivery tracking, goods inspection, and invoice reconciliation.
- Resolve any discrepancies related to quality, quantity, or delivery, and implement corrective action when necessary.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels in collaboration with the warehouse and production teams to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Forecast future demand based on historical data, production planning, and market trends, particularly for perishable F&B items.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (e.g., chefs, R&D, production managers, finance) to ensure materials purchased meet specifications and timelines.
- Support new product development by sourcing trial materials or specialty ingredients as needed.
- Conduct continuous market research to stay informed on commodity prices, supply risks, and emerging suppliers.
- Anticipate potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity.
- Ensure all purchases comply with internal quality standards, food safety regulations, and legal requirements (e.g., import/export, halal certifications, etc.).
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for auditing and traceability.
- Manage and coach the procurement team, setting clear goals and expectations to foster accountability and performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training to build capability and knowledge in food industry procurement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant procurement experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong skills in negotiation, supplier management, and contract administration.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international supplier markets, especially within the F&B industry.
- Proficient in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Familiar with procurement regulations and compliance requirements, both local and international.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Strong leadership qualities, sound decision-making skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin is preferred to facilitate communication with local teams and Chinese-speaking suppliers and stakeholders.
