Senior Associate – International Arbitration
(Contract - between 6 to 12 months)
This senior role, based in Singapore, focuses on managing a diverse portfolio of commercial disputes, with a particular emphasis on international arbitration. The position involves significant client interaction, delivering high-quality service, identifying new business opportunities, and providing leadership and support to junior team members.You will handle complex, cross-border cases for the firm’s key clients, often navigating challenging regulatory and international issues.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Take a ‘hands on’ approach to managing own files and a broad case load
- Work closely with and support Partners in more complex disputes involving companies and individuals in a variety of industries and sectors
- Engage in client marketing and business development activities including attending internal and external events
- Draft complex documents with minimum instruction and supervision
- Provide client advice in a succinct, practical and persuasive manner
- Apply a commercial approach to research and evaluate relevance and accuracy in delivery of advice
- Contribute to divisional knowledge and know-how initiatives
- Build rapport with clients and develop an effective working relationship
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills with junior colleagues including delegation, mentoring and coaching skills
Person Specification:
- International arbitration experience with 5+ PQE
- Demonstrates good judgement and a good legal and commercial understanding of client’s particular needs
- Understands scope of task, manages time effectively and performs well under time and work pressures.
- Have the ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels
- Be confident in both verbal and written communication with a diverse range of clients
- Be a strong team player
- Have a flexible approach and willing to go the extra mile
