The Opportunity:

Adecco is seeking ane Engineering Manager for a client in the shipbuilding industry. This role involves providing engineering expertise to assist in client retention and acquisition, focusing on commercial newbuilding and ship repair projects.

The Job:

• Provide engineering support to business development and marketing teams to retain existing clients and support new client acquisition for shipbuilding and offshore projects.
• Support commercial teams in tendering activities for newbuilding, conversion, and ship repair projects.
• Review contracts, technical specifications, and equipment requirements to ensure design and engineering obligations are met.
• Develop basic design concepts aligned with newbuilding tender requirements.
• Prepare engineering and drawing schedules and coordinate technical meetings with clients, classification societies, designers, vendors, and system integrators.
• Lead and execute design and engineering production plans for awarded newbuilding projects.
• Interpret classification society rules and applicable maritime regulations, ensuring full technical compliance.
• Review and understand design drawings, providing technical guidance throughout project execution.
• Work independently while leading and collaborating effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

The Talent:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in the marine, shipbuilding, or offshore industry.
• Solid understanding of shipbuilding processes, project workflows, and engineering deliverables.
• Strong ability to interpret technical specifications and engage in technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel to Indonesia, Taiwan, and other countries for technical meetings and project-related activities.
