Overview
The Business Development Manager / Sales Manager will play a critical role in driving regional growth, strengthening customer relationships, and shaping the go-to-market strategy across Singapore and Southeast Asia. This is a highly autonomous, client-facing position that bridges local market needs with the company’s global expertise in engineering, automation, and digitalisation.
About the Role
In this strategic position, you will engage directly with clients across the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries to understand their process requirements, propose tailored technical solutions, and establish long-term partnerships.You will collaborate closely with global technical and engineering teams to deliver high-quality proposals and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and bioprocessing sectors across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers, including major pharma manufacturers, CMOs, CDMOs, and specialty biopharma companies.
- Lead commercial discussions, including contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and project scope definition.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and professional forums to enhance brand visibility and market presence.
- Support the development of marketing collateral, proposal materials, and strategic pricing and territory plans.
- Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and competitor activities, providing insights to guide regional business strategy.
- Ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty by acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Bioengineering) or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record in business development or technical sales within the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biotech, cleanroom, or aseptic processing equipment sectors.
- Strong technical understanding of process solutions, automation, cleanroom/sterile production, and qualification/validation processes.
- Established professional network across Southeast Asia within pharma, biotech, CDMO, life sciences, or related process engineering sectors (highly advantageous).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and technical decision-makers.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and self-driven approach, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
- Willingness to travel within Southeast Asia.
- Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident.
