Bedok - Senior Manager, Global Inventory
The Senior Manager, Global Inventory Operations plays an integral role in directly contributing to the organization’s initiatives by means of execution and accountability.
He/She will develop and implement inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis, and reporting. The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify and prioritize initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities and develop best inventory management practices.
All inventory aspects of the manufacturing environment (incoming, WIP, Kitting, Returns, Rework, provisions, outgoing, blocks) will be understood and optimized to drive the company to best in class inventory turns by managing and supervising the day-to-day operation of the Inventory operations globally.
This position is directly responsible for Global Inventory control across the group.
Responsibilities:
- Support implementation of strategies to maximize revenue through inventory management. The strategy will include Inventory Analysis, Layout and Physical Inventory Roadmap.
- Inventory Planning and Control: Lead, develop, and implement inventory management policies, procedures, and strategies to maximize efficiency and minimize costs
- Inventory Replenishment: Manage the replenishment process to ensure that inventory levels are maintained at optimal levels, and that stockouts and overstocking are minimized.
- Inventory Optimization: Provide expertise in building an inventory model that increases efficiency and visibility for planning and other activities associated with management of inventory optimization and response.
- Inventory Forecasting: Analyze historical data to forecast future inventory levels and make informed decisions about inventory levels.
- Inventory Reporting and Analysis: Lead the KPI Management of inventory day and ensure accuracy of inventory taking. Provide regular reports and analysis to stakeholders on inventory levels, inventory turns, and other key performance indicators.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a team of inventory management professionals, providing guidance, training, and coaching to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Create a vision for world class inventory movement and inventory control for expanding facilities.
- Systems SME: Strong understanding of inventory management software and systems, including ERP, APS. WMS, and TMS; and stays up to date with the latest technology and best practices in inventory management.
- Planning Governance: Act as Global Process Owner for inventory set up, standardization, and harmonization of planning processes and systems across Business Units, Sites, and ERP systems
- Customer Fulfillment: Work with Sales and Business Development teams to identify appropriate customer owned inventory policies and stocking levels. Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, procedures, rules.
- Manages and supervises the Inventory function across all AE sites and forms control for the enterprise. Lead and manage multiple, complex work streams within and/or across program(s) and collaborate with various departments in a non-repetitive role.
- Provide support to execute the strategy of continuous improvements in key customer and financial metrics by managing key programs and projects, communicating progress, escalating challenges, and clear and timely communication to stakeholders.
Experience:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree. Preference is a supply chain, business or finance major
- 8-10 years of business experience required, with experience in Transformation preferably responsible for Inventory.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities to address and resolve issues that face a growing enterprise.
- Proven Inventory management skills.
- Strong Communications Skills, both Oral and Written, and be able to do participate and/or lead meetings.
- Posses strong analytical skills and system expertise: Tableau/Power Bi, S4/R3, IBP
- Strong experience in building high performing teams and leading diverse groups.
- Experience with creating and implementing a world class inventory control system.
- Understand financial business acumen with relation to inventory data, such as profit-and-loss sheets, cashflow etc.
- Experience with SAP, MES systems that can track and analyze inventory.
- Proven track record of positively improving a business or function collaborating, influencing, and coordinating with internal and external partners, including senior leaders.
- Strong experience in program management skills, and process improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment with proven ability to manage multiple demands successfully and within a matrixed organization.
- History of driving teams to perform and deliver on demanding schedules.
- Ability to lead multiple initiatives and manage through change.
- Hands on individual able to drill into fine levels of details to bring up facts.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to set and drive long-term goals and objectives
- Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to advocate for, coach, and mentor staff
- Strong ability to influence all levels of management and employees to educate, garner buy-in and ultimately gain approval to move initiatives forward
- Superior communicator including interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills; proficient with risk communications and media relations
- Experience at improving material movement throughout a facility from beginning to end.
- Good knowledge in Lean and Six Sigma such as Lean sensei or black belt.
