Choa Chu Kang - Rental Sales Engineer-ASEAN Regional
The Rental Sales Engineer will manage the full rental sales cycle—prospecting, proposing, negotiating, and closing—while also travelling regionally to conduct customer visits, technical demonstrations, and onboard vessel/site support.
Key Responsibilities- Business Development
Develop new rental opportunities across ASEAN in marine, offshore, subsea, environmental, and industrial sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, survey companies, EPCs, and government agencies.
Prepare professional rental proposals, quotations, and commercial agreements.- Sales & Customer Engagement
Act as the primary contact for ASEAN rental customers.
Conduct regular travel within ASEAN to meet clients, present solutions, and carry out technical demonstrations.
Negotiate rental terms, pricing, and contracts to meet or exceed sales targets.- Technical & Operational Support
Assess customer requirements and recommend suitable equipment from the rental fleet.
Perform on-site and onboard vessel visits to support equipment demonstrations, setup, and handover.
Work closely with the technical/service team to ensure equipment is tested, mobilized, and demobilized on schedule.
Provide basic user training and troubleshooting support for rental equipment.- Reporting & Administration
Maintain detailed records of rental enquiries, quotations, and contracts.
Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and monthly rental performance reports.
Monitor competitor activities, rental trends, and market opportunities across ASEAN.
Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or related field).
2–5 years of sales or rental experience in technical equipment, ideally in marine/offshore/industrial markets.
Strong technical understanding of survey equipment, compressors, diving systems, or heavy-duty industrial tools.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Self-driven with a proven track record of meeting sales targets.
Willingness to travel frequently within ASEAN, including to customer sites, shipyards, and offshore vessels.
Preferred Attributes
Prior experience in equipment rental fleet management or technical sales support.
Knowledge of hydrographic survey, subsea, construction, or diving industries.
Hands-on approach with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to clients.
