Application Engineer (Machine Vision)

Overview

We are hiring an Application Engineer for a global leading firm in automation manufacturing industry. This role sits at the intersection of technical support, solution engineering, and customer-facing application work. The ideal candidate will have hands-on exposure to machine vision products, a practical understanding of image processing and automation environments, and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and customers throughout the project lifecycle.

• Work closely with customers to understand application requirements and recommend suitable machine vision solutions
• Provide pre-sales and application support, including feasibility assessment, solution design, and technical discussions
• Support the setup, configuration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of machine vision systems at customer sites
• Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, solution specialists, and service teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Prepare technical proposals, reports, documentation, and training materials for customers and internal stakeholders
• Conduct customer training, project handovers, and ongoing technical support where required
• Coordinate with external vendors or system integrators when needed
• Provide timely updates on project progress, issues, and resolutions to relevant stakeholders

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Around 3-5 years of relevant experience in machine vision, industrial automation, or related application engineering work
• Familiarity with machine vision products and practical knowledge of image processing
• Experience or exposure to PLC programming and automation environments
• Ability to review and understand technical specifications, manuals, and related materials
• Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting is preferred
• Exposure to tools such as OpenCV, Halcon, or similar image processing platforms will be an advantage
• Basic PC programming knowledge is preferred
• Comfortable working on-site when needed and engaging directly with customers
