Core Identity and Role

Position Overview: A Database Administrator role focused on maintaining, supporting, and optimizing enterprise databases.
Operational Focus: Ensures high availability, performance, and reliability of databases in a 24/7 support environment.
Work Environment: Fast-paced operations setting requiring responsiveness to incidents, outages, and service requests.
Stakeholder Interaction: Works with internal teams to resolve issues, implement changes, and maintain database health.

Key Technical Functions

Incident & Outage Management:

Respond to and resolve database incidents, alerts, and outages to minimize downtime and restore services quickly.

Database Operations Support:

Provide day-to-day operational support for HANA and MS-SQL databases, including monitoring and maintenance.

Performance Optimization:

Monitor database performance, tune systems, and manage alerts to ensure optimal efficiency.

Backup & Recovery:

Ensure proper execution of backup and recovery processes to safeguard data integrity.

Root Cause Analysis:

Investigate recurring issues and implement preventive measures to improve system stability.

Service Requests & Enhancements:

Handle database-related service requests, including changes, improvements, and deployments.

System Lifecycle Management:

Support database builds and manage decommissioning of systems following proper protocols.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

2–5 years of experience in database administration, particularly with HANA and MS-SQL.

Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of RDBMS management and database administration
Experience with backup, recovery, and decommissioning processes
Familiarity with incident management and alert monitoring
Experience in performance tuning and database optimization
Professional Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 support environment
Good communication skills for managing incidents and service requests
