We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team, specialising in the design and development of high-precision automation equipment for the electronics industry (e.g. semiconductor, PCB) and customised factory automation systems.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about engineering innovation, problem-solving, and delivering cutting-edge automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Project Managers and clients to understand design requirements and specifications
- Analyse project needs and contribute to concept development and design solutions
- Design and develop high-precision automation equipment and systems
- Select suitable components (e.g. sensors, pneumatics, motors, servo systems, robotics)
- Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) using SAP
- Coordinate with fabrication vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Support assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment with technicians
- Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and technical challenges
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, QA) to ensure compliance with industry standards
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical design for automation equipment
- Strong knowledge of factory automation systems (semiconductor/PCB industry preferred)
- Hands-on experience in mechanical design and component selection (electrical, pneumatic, sensors)
- Proficient in SolidWorks (3D) and EPDM
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of machine safety and industry standards (e.g. ISO, IEC)
- Familiarity with reliability engineering principles
- Experience working with high-precision or high-tech automation systems
