Through specialized training programmes, MIJ Academy empowers professionals to foster inclusive learning environments and enables neurodiverse individuals to build independent living and vocational skills.

The Learning & Development Specialist is a multifaceted role responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of impactful training programmes, workshops, and learning experiences. The role goes beyond special needs education, extending into broader educational outreach—including caregiver support, corporate engagements, and learning journeys for mainstream students.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on implementer skilled at crafting high-quality proposals, developing inclusive and adaptable educational materials, and executing effective workshops for diverse audiences such as educators, caregivers, parents, neurodiverse individuals, and students.

Working across internal teams and external partners, the Specialist will conceptualize new offerings, lead curriculum design, establish delivery systems, and ensure programme quality and consistency. This position requires strong instructional design, facilitation, and programme development skills, along with the ability to adapt content across multiple learning settings—from professional seminars and classroom environments to community-focused initiatives and public awareness efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Programme Design & Curriculum Development
  • Design, structure, and regularly update content such as facilitator guides, lesson kits, digital resources, and participant workbooks.
  • Ensure content is inclusive, practical, and aligned with MIJ’s HERE pedagogy and EA3 framework.
  • Develop modular curriculum adaptable to different learner profiles, including neurodiverse individuals and lifelong learners.
  • Conduct research in key focus areas such as caregiver support and corporate engagement, and effectively translate findings into actionable insights to be shared with the internal team for strategic planning and execution
  1. Workshop Delivery & Facilitation
  • Facilitate engaging and inclusive sessions for a range of audiences—educators, caregivers, corporates, and students (mainstream and neurodiverse).
  • Apply adult learning principles and experiential learning techniques during training.
  • Customise delivery style to match the learning needs and backgrounds of different groups.
  1. Proposal Writing & Programme Planning
  • Develop detailed programme proposals, workshop scopes, and deliverables for internal projects and external clients (e.g. schools, NGOs, government bodies).
  • Align proposals with identified learning needs and institutional priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on project planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  1. Workflow & Process Development
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and evaluation templates to support consistent delivery.
  • Coordinate across departments (e.g., marketing, logistics, admin) to ensure smooth execution of training events. (this would fall under stakeholder management)
  • Maintain a centralised repository of curriculum and version-controlled materials.
  1. Quality Assurance & Evaluation
  • Implement systems for feedback collection, reflection, and programme improvement.
  • Track training outcomes and participant engagement to guide future enhancements.
  • Stay updated on educational trends and evidence-based practices in inclusive and adult learning.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of curriculum implementation through all trainings, and other initiatives
  1. Stakeholder engagement & management
  • To be able to work with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that the learning initiatives are rolled out
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess learning needs and develop programmes that support business objectives.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in learning design, training, or educational programme development.
  • Proven experience facilitating sessions for varied audiences, including neurodiverse learners and professional educators.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong instructional design and facilitation skills across physical and digital platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for proposal development and curriculum material creation, including strong public speaking skills for workshops, presentations, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Confident in engaging diverse audiences, including professionals, caregivers, and neurodiverse individuals.
  • Ability to translate complex educational concepts into accessible, actionable content.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and ability to apply the HERE pedagogy and EA3 framework.
  • Capable of project managing multiple learning initiatives simultaneously.
