Machineshop Manager (Precision Engineering / Manufacturing) - Choa Chu Kang

We are looking for an experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead a dynamic and efficient machine shop team. This critical role involves ensuring that all production processes meet established standards for safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the machine shop, with the support of leaders and supervisors
• Ensure that production targets for quality, on-time delivery, and productivity are consistently achieved
• Always having a safety-centric mindset in the workplace
• Oversee the management of key resources including manpower, tooling, fixtures, gauges, and software programs to optimize production operations
• Review and evaluate complex engineering drawings for manufacturability
• Propose and implement tooling and fixture solutions to address complex machining needs, while focusing on cost reduction strategies
• Collaborate with the sales team to provide precise estimates for machining hours and optimize solutions
• Investigate discrepancies between planned and actual performance and implement corrective actions
• Work closely with subcontractors to resolve quality challenges and ensure high standards are maintained
• Contribute to the development of new product manufacturing methods and support First Article (FA) production processes
• Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement, driving operational efficiencies, and enhancing production work flows

Requirements:

• A minimum of a Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong background in managing CNC machine shop operations and driving efficiency.
• Experience working with machining projects, especially in industries like aerospace / oil & gas, is preferred.
• In-depth technical knowledge and mechanical expertise.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills; a team player with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of CNC programming software is a plus.
