Head of Finance - Toa Payoh

The Head of Finance will oversee the financial operations of MVGX Tech Group, which includes the Singapore-based holding company and its subsidiaries across Asia. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, implementing efficient policies and procedures in a matrix environment, and applying financial controls to maintain high compliance standards.
As VP of Finance, you will also play a crucial role in supporting the CEO and senior executives in business analysis, strategic planning, performance management, and managing investor relations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- · Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, local regulations).
- · Be responsible for consolidated financial reporting at the group level.
- · Ensure compliance with local and international tax laws, including corporate tax, VAT/GST, and other relevant regulations.
- · Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure audit compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
- Cross-Regional Financial Management:
- · Lead and collaborate with finance teams in subsidiaries across Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, and other international locations to ensure seamless financial operations and consistent reporting across regions.
- · Establish efficient internal workflows and procedures for financial controls within a matrix environment.
- · Manage treasury operations to facilitate funding requirements for subsidiaries.
- · Act as the key point of contact between the Singapore head office and international subsidiaries for financial matters.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- · Lead the preparation of detailed financial forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
- · Conduct in-depth financial analysis to monitor performance, track KPIs, and recommend improvements to optimize cost-efficiency and profitability.
- · Drive initiatives to improve cash flow management, working capital optimization, and cost reduction.
- · Develop and execute financial plans, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring alignment with company priorities.
- · Provide strategic insights to the CEO and senior leadership team to support decision-making and business expansion plans.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- · Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting professional growth.
- · Implement training programs and succession planning to build finance talent within the company.
- · Ensure adherence to best practices in financial reporting and internal controls within the finance team.
Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Management:
- · Work closely with investors, board members, and other key stakeholders to provide financial updates, insights, and strategic recommendations.
- · Assist in fundraising activities, including managing relationships with potential investors or financial institutions.
- Required Qualifications:
- · Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent certification required). Experience in Big 4 firms is preferred.
- · 8-10 years of experience in finance or accounting, covering all aspects of finance management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (e.g., Finance Manager, Finance Director, or similar).
- · Proven experience in financial strategy, planning, and analysis in multinational or regional contexts.
- · Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
- · Deep understanding of accounting principles (IFRS), financial reporting, tax regulations, and compliance.
- · Experience managing financial reporting for international subsidiaries, consolidations under complex structures, and working with different tax jurisdictions. Familiarity with reporting and tax requirements in Singapore and Malaysia is preferred.
- · Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- · Advanced proficiency in financial software (ERP systems, Excel, financial modeling).
- · Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and carbon calculation is a plus.
