Editor, Cross-platform Content (1-year contract)

CNA is looking for an experienced editor to join its cross-platform content team, which takes news content developed for a particular platform (such as TV) and reworks it for another (such as Digital). This position will suit someone who knows how to turn a 300-word script for a TV news package or a lengthy interview conducted on radio into a comprehensive text story for online, or can identify how a video developed specifically for an online audience can be reworked for broadcast on TV.

Responsibilities :

• Identify content across individual news platforms that can be repurposed for use elsewhere. Develop a constant flow of reworked content for CNA platforms.
• Work with the team leader to make judgement calls on how content can be best utilised on other platforms, such as whether a TV interview with a key newsmaker merits a full story for Digital or if individual quotes will suffice.
• Take a lead role in redeveloping the content, such as by taking a script for a TV news package and enhancing it with additional content to turn it into a comprehensive text story for Digital.
• Review the work of other team members to ensure it meets the necessary editorial standards and does not require additional work before publication or broadcast.

• At least 4 years of editorial experience, ideally in a variety of newsrooms (such as TV, digital or print).
• A deep knowledge of how content needs to be shaped in different ways for various types of news platforms and social media.
• A driven self-starter who can help the team to achieve key goals.
• Outstanding awareness of the Asian news agenda, with a good knowledge of events in Singapore.
• A willingness to work irregular hours, including some weekends and public holidays.
