The Company
Our client in the financial services industry is currently seeking a 6 months' contract Financial Controller to join their dynamic team.
The Role
This role involves managing a full set of accounts for both stand-alone entities and consolidated group results, ensuring comprehensive and accurate financial records. Key responsibilities include performing daily financial operations such as transaction recording, account reconciliations, and payment processing, as well as the timely preparation and delivery of financial and management reports for internal stakeholders and regulators.The position also entails providing detailed analysis of business performance against budgets, supporting annual audits, tax submissions, and regulatory reporting. The role requires planning and organizing group consolidated budgets, business plans, and forecasts, as well as preparing presentations for Board and Sub-committee meetings.
The candidate will also provide financial support for third-party ventures, maintain records, and deliver periodic reports.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate should possess a degree in Accountancy, Chartered Accountant certification, or an equivalent professional qualification, with 5 to 8 years of proven experience in financial or management reporting. A solid understanding of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS), accounting principles, tax rules, and service company operations, including transfer pricing and cost allocation, is essential.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting is required, while skills in PowerPoint, data visualization, and financial modeling are advantageous. The candidate must have a strong control mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate finance risks, coupled with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
They should demonstrate a good appreciation of operational and reporting risks within finance functions, work both independently and collaboratively, and exhibit initiative under tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a team-oriented attitude, and a focus on continuous process improvement through automation or streamlining are also critical for success in this role.
