We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Assistant Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to shape the financial direction of our Asia operations. Responsibilities:
- Regional Consolidation and Management Reporting
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close and consolidation process across the region.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal account policies.
- Review and validate intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments
- Prepare timely and accurate regional management reports, dashboards, and financial analysis.
- Deliver key performance indicators, trends, and variance analysis
- Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Lead and manage the annual budgeting and long-range planning processes across Asia markets.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align financial plans with strategic and operational goals.
- Ensure timely consolidation and review of budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans.
- Forecasting & Reporting
- Oversee the monthly forecasting cycle, identifying risks and opportunities across the region.
- Prepare and present monthly management reports, including P&L analysis, variance analysis, and business performance commentary.
- Support regional leadership with real-time financial insights to aid decision-making.
- Business Performance & Strategic Analysis
- Conduct financial modelling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing to support business cases, investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with commercial, supply chain, and brand teams to evaluate business performance and identify cost optimization or revenue growth opportunities.
- Analyze KPIs and market trends across product lines, channels (retail, e-commerce, wholesale), and geographies.
- Business Partnering
- Act as a strategic advisor to regional and local leadership teams, ensuring financial discipline in operational and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with country finance teams to drive consistency and best practices across the region.
- Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive enhancements in FP&A processes, tools, and systems (e.g., SAP, Power BI, Hyperion) for improved accuracy and efficiency.
- Support digital transformation and data analytics initiatives to enhance financial insights.
- Team Management & Coaching
- Provide strong leadership, motivation, and guidance to the FP&A team to foster a high-performance culture.
- Act as a people manager, responsible for the continuous professional development and upskilling of team members.
- Support career progression through coaching, mentoring, and regular performance feedback.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment across regional and local finance teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines, with AICPA/ACCA /CPA Australia qualification or equivalent.
- MBA is preferable but not essential.
- Minimum 10-15 years of progressive FP&A experience with at least 5 years in the regional managerial role in MNCs
- Strong background in the retail or consumer good industry
- Deep understanding of P&L, retail metrics and business drivers
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Working at decentralization regional business model is definitely an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all organizational levels.
- Strong mindset on teamwork.
- Proficient in financial systems (e.g. SAP, Hyperion) and data visualization tools (e.g. power BI, Tableau).
- Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
- Travel may be required on an occasional basis.
