Head of Client Onboarding

A fast-growing fintech firm is seeking a Head of Client Onboarding to lead and scale its regional onboarding function.

In return, you will enjoy an attractive annual remuneration of up to $150,000 per annum.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead and enhance the client onboarding process across the region, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk standards.
• Oversee end-to-end Customer Due Diligence (CDD) including document checks, risk assessments, screening (PEP, sanctions, adverse media), and SOW/SOF reviews.
• Design and implement onboarding workflows that balance efficiency, automation, and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with Compliance, Product, Tech, and Client Success teams to continuously improve onboarding speed and quality.
• Act as point of escalation for complex onboarding cases or high-risk clients.
• Monitor ongoing onboarding KPIs, identify pain points, and drive initiatives to enhance client experience and reduce friction.
• Stay up-to-date with regulatory developments (e.g., MAS Notice 626, EU AML/CFT regulations) and translate them into practical onboarding guidelines.
• Provide mentorship and training to the onboarding team and support internal audits or regulatory reviews.

What You’ll Bring:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Compliance / CDD / AML, preferably in a fintech, digital bank, or technology-driven environment.
• Strong working knowledge of MAS and other APAC AML/CFT regulations.
• Track record of designing or improving onboarding frameworks in a regulated setting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels.
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail and process improvement.
• Prior experience in leading or mentoring small teams is preferred.
