Assistant / Production Manager, Food Factory
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Assistant / Production Manager oversees the entire Food Manufacturing Process, manpower, financial and resource planning. Oversees the day-to-day operations and the production facility and decides on strategies for workplace safety and health and ensures safety and cleanliness standards in an efficient and effective process while maximizing profits for the company
The Assistant / Production Manager needs to establish, implement and improve standards, procedures and processes for the production of products that meet factory quality and safety standards. The Assistant / Production Manager must have experience in the food service industry and be able to direct the activities of the production team, as well as train and lead the production team to achieve their goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor the production process and drawing up production schedule.
- Manage and assign roles to production staff according to their competence and work demand.
- Manage, motivate, and supervise work crew to ensure daily production targets are achieved.
- Plan, determine training needs and lead training and development programs for production staff.
- Plan and manage all products are produced on time and are of good quality that complied with Company policies, and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external food production quality and food safety standards, regulations and legislation.
- Manage and inspect production processes and equipment to ensure they are operational and in good working order for food production and staff handling.
- Develop ways to improve sales and profit by improving product quality and processes with quality control team.
- Create new products and manage product design and development.
- Inspects food items and work areas (eg. proper food temperatures, personal hygiene and etc) for the purpose of preventing cross-contamination of food-borne illnesses.
- Oversees the hiring, orientation and training of production and non-production food manufacturing personnel.
- Serve as a career coach to follow up on staff’s training progress.
- Oversees production staff and working environment for the purpose of ensuring safety regulations are met, efficient and sanitary working conditions.
- Execute any other duties as assigned.
