Southeast Asia Economy & Government Reporter - Singapore - Geylang
It's what keeps us inventing and re-inventing, all the time We are seeking a dynamic and experienced reporter to lead coverage of one of the world’s most vibrant and fast-evolving regions. You will break news, write in-depth analytical pieces, and produce ambitious enterprise across multiple platforms, including print, digital, television, podcasts, and social media.
You will work with colleagues across Southeast Asian bureaus to cover central bank decisions, fiscal and monetary policy shifts, and broader economic themes such as investment, labor markets, and supply chains, while connecting the dots between policy, politics, and markets for a global audience.
You are a skilled reporter with a strong understanding of economics, politics, and markets with experience in Asia; and a proven track record of producing fast and impactful stories. You should be comfortable navigating complex policy issues, interpreting data, cultivating sources, and translating technical topics into compelling narratives.You will also work closely with editors, visuals, video, and data teams to enrich reporting and enhance audience impact.

- Break news, deliver in-depth analytical stories, and provide insightful enterprise reporting across multiple platforms.
- Be self-driven while also collaborating effectively across teams, bureaus, and countries to bring a global perspective.
- Think innovatively and creatively about how to make our content engaging and accessible to a diverse, business-savvy audience.
You'll need to have:
- At least 5 years of recent financial journalism experience.
- At least 5 years in a real-time news environment.
- At least 3 years covering Asia economics and politics as a reporter.
- An ability to write clearly, quickly, and accurately in English, often under time pressure.
- Experience with storytelling across a range of platforms, including print, digital, podcast, and graphics.
- Collaborative attitude and effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
- Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
