Network Security Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily operations aligned with ITSM/ITIL processes, including incident handling, change implementation, and problem management activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to provide timely updates and ensure smooth execution of operational tasks.

• Monitor and measure availability, health, and performance of network and security systems proactively.
• Identify irregularities or performance degradation and implement corrective actions to improve service stability and availability.

• Support and participate in business continuity and disaster recovery activities, including backup/restore validations and DR exercises when required.

• Configure, test, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Assist in network technology refresh projects, device replacements, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Support migration activities across data centre and cloud environments as part of operational or project‑driven initiatives.

• Administer next‑generation firewall and security platforms, including configuration updates, rule tuning, system optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Investigate and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues across network and security layers.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation including SOPs, MOPs, network diagrams, and technical workbooks.
• Support knowledge‑sharing initiatives and provide technical insights to internal teams.

• Pursue and attain relevant certifications required for vendor partnerships or technical capability enhancement.

Requirements

• Experience in configuring and administering network and security platforms such as:
• - Palo Alto firewalls (PAN‑OS, Panorama, Prisma Access / SD‑WAN)
• Cisco network devices (routers, switches, wireless controllers)
• Check Point, Peplink, Fortinet, or similar network security technologies
• Strong understanding of L2/L3 networking fundamentals, routing, switching, and traffic flow analysis.
• Hands‑on experience in network migration, tech refresh, and cloud‑network integration.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues using structured root‑cause analysis.
• Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL operational methodologies.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good documentation, reporting, and communication capabilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to continuous learning and skill development.

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, PCNSE, NSE, AWS, Aviatrix) are advantageous.
• Prior experience in network operations, network security, or systems integration is preferred.
