Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and optimize CNC machines and machining equipment to manufacture precision aerospace components according to engineering specifications and production requirements.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, process sheets, and work instructions to determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and dimensional tolerances.
- Perform machine setup, tool changes, offset adjustments, and routine machine maintenance to ensure efficient and accurate production.
- Monitor machining operations and make necessary process adjustments to maintain product quality, dimensional accuracy, and cycle time targets.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues, and work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to drive timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies at all times.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards to support a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, setup reduction, and waste elimination.
- Accurately complete production records, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
Key Experience & Capabilities
NITEC/Higher NITEC, technical certification, or equivalent qualification in Precision Engineering, Machining Technology, or related field.
Proven hands-on experience operating CNC machines, including:
- CNC Turning
- CNC Milling
- Knowledge of G-code programming and CNC machine setup.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to machining and tooling issues.
- Prior experience in aerospace manufacturing or other high-precision industries is preferred.
- Good coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Good communication skills and positive work attitude.
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.
- Experience with Fanuc-controlled machines.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience handling tight tolerance and complex precision components.
- Basic knowledge of quality systems and process compliance requirements in aerospace manufacturing.
