Ignite Intern Program Our 11-week, full-time Ignite Intern Program offers a comprehensive overview of the Selective organization, along with specialized training in your assigned business area.

This program includes: Orientation: Get to know our company and culture.

On-the-Job Assignments: Gain hands-on experience.
Project Management Opportunities: Lead and manage projects.
Exposure to Leadership: Interact with management, senior leadership, and executives.
Community Volunteer Day: Give back and make a difference.

Responsibilities Learn about Selective's history, mission and operations.
Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships in order to achieve business goals.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to achieving business goals.
Convey facts and information effectively in both verbal and written communications.
Qualifications Knowledge and Requirements Must be a self-starter, able to take direction and follow instructions.
Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and perform under pressure.
Must have the ability to multi-task successfully.
Must have proficient PC skills specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Candidates should be working towards an applicable degree, for the internship they are interested, in their field of study preferred.
Relevant classroom experience in Accounting, Actuary, Audit, Bonds, Claims, Finance, Information Technology, Marketing and/or Underwriting preferred.
Presentation skills and attention to detail a plus.
Desire to work for Selective Insurance after graduation preferred.
Education and Experience High School Diploma required.
Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint.
