The engineer works closely with Quality and Engineering teams maintain smooth and reliable operations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on support for new product development and initial start-up of spring fabrication processes, ensuring machine readiness; guide and train technicians.
• Set up and optimize spring manufacturing process based on drawings and specifications to ensure readiness for mass production and smooth ramp-up.
• Conduct trial runs and support process qualification activities, including verification of dimensional, load, and functional requirements prior to production release.
• Monitor machine performance and product output to ensure stable and consistent production; identify abnormalities and implement or support corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, process, and quality issues in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and global technical support teams.
• Collect, record, and analyze production and process data (e.g., yield, scrap, cycle time) to support process improvement and engineering evaluation.
• Assist in process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), measurement system checks, and validation activities; ensure effective in-process inspection using appropriate measuring tools.
• Ensure proper documentation of setup parameters, process conditions, and trial results; support material verification and identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.
• Support pre- and post-audit activities (e.g., internal, customer, ISO), including preparation of required documentation, participation during audits, and follow-up on corrective actions.

Other job duties:

• Ensure compliance with all EHS policies and actively promote a safe working environment through risk awareness and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, purchasing etc.) to support overall operational alignment and execution.
• Support and participate in cross-functional or plant-level projects, including cost reduction, digitalization, and system improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to a continuous improvement culture through participation in Kaizen, Lean, Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and 5S activities.
• Assist in maintaining and improving process documentation, standards, and work instructions to ensure consistency and sustainability.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in mechanical spring manufacturing (e.g., compression and torsion springs) or background in CNC / precision engineering industries is highly preferred.
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Hands-on experience in process qualification, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings, specifications, and control plans.
• Proficient in the use of metrology tools and measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
• Familiarity with process capability studies, statistical analysis, and quality control methodologies is an advantage.
• Experience working in precision engineering or high-mix, high-volume production environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO13485, IATF16949, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles; possession of a Green Belt certification will be an added advantage.
