Sales Engineer - Bukit Batok

Job Description & Requirements

CPM has more than 1,700 employees with facilities in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

CPM is looking for a Sales Engineer, you will be assisting our Engineering team to contribute to the growth of the company by utilizing extensive product knowledge and a professional engineering attitude. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on selling through technical expertise and passion for the CPM products.

Description of the work

• Identify customer requirements and wishes via the Area Sales Manager/Agents;
• Prepare quotations, including selecting suitable equipment and/or system design concepts, collecting purchase prices, and performing calculations
• Specify delivery times;
• Include payment options, warranty provisions, and service in quotations;
• Answer questions from customers, agents, partners, and sister companies;
• Collect technical data from the customer, such as capacities, available space, budgets, and the like;
• Support the Area Sales Manager on site when necessary.

• Drawing up order confirmations and final calculations based on requests from area managers and/or agents;
• Organizing kick-off meetings to check the order confirmation.
• Ensuring correct order confirmation and submitting it to the General Sales Manager for signature and dispatch to the customer.
• Transfer final orders to the Order Processing department, which enters the order into the system;
• Record commercial agreements and follow up on any specifications;

• Monitor the progress of the project until the down payment has been received; for example:
• Receive responses to outstanding issues.
• Monitoring that deposits are made on time.

Knowledge

Required of the:

• Bachelor degree – mechanical engineering
• Work experience, approx. 2 years, sales (office-based)
• Processes of international customers
• Customer-oriented and internal communication techniques
• Own products; machines and delivery program;
• General terms and conditions of sale of the company;
• Internal company organization, processes, regulations, procedures, and standards;
• Software systems (Microsoft Office, SAP, Sales Force)
• Safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations
• English language

Composition/authorities

The work is carried out entirely independently. In case of doubt or problems, the Sr. Sales Engineer or Supervisor Sales Support can be consulted.

Responsibility

Is responsible for:

• Issuing quotations and order confirmations in a timely manner;
• Monitoring the quotation and order process in order to ensure optimal results;
• Ensuring that all project-related documents required for transfer to production are returned and filed in the dossier.
• Effectiveness and efficiency of the execution of the work.

Communication

Takes place with:

• Agents on all kinds of commercial and technical matters;
• Area Sales Managers when discussing the work and its results;
• Employees from various departments such as Projects, Purchasing, Engineering, After Sales, Finance, and the like for coordinating ongoing matters related to the project;
• Sr. Sales Engineer or Supervisor Sales Support for discussing the work in case of problems or doubts.
• Sr. Sales Engineer or Supervisor Sales Support to discuss and prioritize the work at hand.
• Consultation with colleagues about the division of work within the department.
