about the job
As a China Economist, you will play a critical, client-facing role, producing integrated and forward-looking analysis on China's economy and capital markets. This position is a technical role, requiring an authoritative view and a high level of independent judgment and initiative whilst working with internal stakeholders/departments both locally and in other offices.
about the team/manager
Part of a lean team, you will report directly to the Department Head.
skills/experience required- Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree / PHD Economics or comparable
- 10+ years of experience as a China-focused economist or research analyst with a proven record in macroeconomic and policy analysis
- The ability to speak, read and write Mandarin language at a business level, as you will be required to liaise with clients in China and handle business documents in their native language
- Willingness to travel within Asia
