The Opportunity
We are partnering with a European international engineering and technology solutions provider supporting global pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers. Due to continued expansion in Asia, they are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their Singapore team.
This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-value life sciences projects at the intersection of process engineering, automation, and advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing, supporting the development of GMP-compliant production facilities for leading pharma and biotech organisations.
About the Role
The Senior Process Engineer will contribute across the full project lifecycle - from concept and detailed design through commissioning and operational readiness - working closely with multidisciplinary engineering and automation teams.
The role is suited to engineers who combine strong process engineering fundamentals with exposure to regulated manufacturing environments and an interest in digitally integrated or automated production systems.
What You Should Have- Background in process engineering within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences manufacturing
- Exposure to automation or digitally integrated manufacturing environments
- Understanding of GMP-regulated production facilities
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable engaging with clients, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Develop and review process designs, PFDs, technical specifications etc.
- Support process development and scale-up activities for pharmaceutical manufacturing systems
- Collaborate with automation engineers on process control strategies
- Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities
- Perform process calculations, risk assessments, and optimisation studies
- Ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements
- Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to validation and technical documentation
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Biotechnology, or related discipline
- 5–10 years of relevant industry experience
- Experience within one or more of the following:
- Pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing
- Biologics or vaccine production
- Engineering consultancy / EPCM environments
- Automation or system integration projects in regulated industries
- Familiarity with GMP/GxP environments
- Exposure to commissioning & qualification (CQV) activities preferred
- Knowledge of upstream/downstream bioprocessing or sterile manufacturing is advantageous
