Senior/Operations Manager, Data Centre

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/ Operations Manager, Data Centre to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and strategic planning of our mission-critical data centre facilities in Singapore. The ideal candidate will ensure operational excellence, reliability, and compliance with industry standards while leading a team of engineers and technicians.

• Operations Management
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the data centre, ensuring uptime and service availability.
• Implement and monitor operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Manage incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Manage operations related to UPS, generators, cooling systems , BMS etc
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities, shutdowns, and infrastructure upgrades
• Vendor & Contractor Management
• Manage contracts with vendors and service providers, ensuring performance against SLAs.
• Oversee contract renewals, negotiations, and compliance with organizational procurement policies.
• Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements or alternative providers.
• Maintain strong relationships with external partners to ensure seamless support and service delivery.
• Infrastructure & Maintenance
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for facility upgrades and repairs.
• Capacity & Performance Planning
• Monitor facility capacity, resource utilization and plan for future capacity requirements.
• Optimize energy efficiency and operational costs.
• Ensure scalability to support business growth.
• Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data centre engineers and technicians.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Manage staffing schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage.
• Compliance & Security
• Ensure adherence to ISO and other relevant standards.
• Oversee physical and cyber security measures within the facility.
• Conduct audits and risk assessments to maintain compliance.
• Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide regular reports on performance, incidents, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with IT, network, and business teams to align operations with organizational goals

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data centre operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and IT systems in data centres.
• Familiarity with industry standards (ISO 27001 etc.).
• Excellent leadership, strong people management skills, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
