Core Responsibilities
Research & Due Diligence- Conduct research and evaluation on global investment opportunities across multiple asset classes including private equity, venture capital, real estate, public equities and fixed income. The opportunity set will comprise both direct investments in individual companies / securities and fund investments.
- Conduct due diligence and analysis to evaluate new investment opportunities identified. Recommendations to be provided to the Investment Manager / Investment Committee for investment decision.
- Research into economic, industry and financial market trends to help with asset allocation decisions.
- Prepare investment memorandums detailing deal description, structure, return potential, risks involved, and possible mitigation measures.
- Perform financial modelling and analysis to evaluate proforma returns on potential investments, including DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and LBO models where applicable.
- Analyse operating results of investments against KPIs / investment thesis. Report to the management on the performance of the company’s investment portfolio.
- Assist the Investment Manager in legal negotiations and coordinate legal aspects on investments.
- Support trade execution, coordination with counterparties, banks, and external advisors (e.g., subscription agreements, subordination agreements).
- Fundamental analysis capabilities with at least 1–3 years’ experience in a relevant role (investment analysis, equity research, corporate finance, valuation advisory, management consulting).
- Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of other research platforms and solutions (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ, PitchBook), with their integration into the investment process, is preferred.
- Fluent in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin is an added bonus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance / Economics, or with professional certificate (e.g., CFA / CPA). CFA Level 1 passed minimum; Level 2+ preferred.
- Resourcefulness, energetic, extremely organized, attentive to detail and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of ethics and confident to solve problems proactively.
- Excellent written communication — ability to articulate investment theses clearly and concisely in memos and presentations.
