Hardware UX Design Engineer (Contract) - Choa Chu Kang
About the Client:
Our client is a Reputed MNC. They are looking for a seasoned hardware focused UX professional who can plan and execute end-to-end UX work from user research to final design deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for UX/UI design, product strategy, prototyping, and future-focused hardware development.
- Integrates Human Factors Engineering principles into the design and development process, accounting for perceptual, physical, and cognitive abilities in the usage of products and services.
- Broad accountability of the user experience from initial set-up/install out-of-box experience through the product lifecycle.
- Defines and executes behavioral studies to guide the design process e.g., yielding both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Delivers the necessary artifacts to capture the intended user experience to implementation/engineering entities.
- Presents test results to development teams and executive leadership to guide and drive the business in accordance with corporate strategies
- Advocate for the user in every stage of the product lifecycle
Requirement:
- Bachelor degree in Electronics, Computer Science or equivalent.
- 4 years in a similar role within hardware UX, preferably in consumer electronics or complex systems.
- Deep understanding of how human factors, ergonomics, and usability apply to hardware products, including physical, perceptual, and cognitive aspects.
- Experience embedding human factors principles into product development cycles.
- Skilled in producing specifications, guidelines, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs for engineering teams.
- Comfortable working in a structured, corporate design environment with high accountability and clear deliverables.
- Able to backfill quickly and pick up ongoing projects with minimal handholding.
- Ability to represent user needs across the full design and development lifecycle.
