Key Responsibilities
Idea Generation & Research- Generate actionable long and short investment ideas with a clearly articulated thesis, variant perception, and defined catalyst path
- Conduct deep fundamental analysis: business model assessment, competitive dynamics, management quality, and industry structure
- Build and maintain detailed financial models (3-statement, DCF, sum-of-parts, scenario analysis) with a focus on identifying where consensus estimates are wrong
- Develop and track proprietary KPIs and leading indicators for each covered company
- Present investment ideas to the portfolio manager with written memos covering thesis, variant perception, valuation, catalysts, and key risks
- Size recommendations: propose entry/exit ranges, position sizing rationale, and stop-loss levels
- Monitor existing positions continuously — flag thesis changes, earnings deviations, and news flow proactively
- Contribute to short book construction: identify overearning, over-levered, structurally declining, or fraudulent businesses
- Participate in regular idea reviews and portfolio reviews with the PM and risk team
- Contribute to sector and macro positioning discussions
