Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager / Commercial Manager to lead the Quantity Surveying (QS) function and oversee contract administration, cost control, and commercial management across projects. The successful candidate will drive financial performance, manage contractual risks, and ensure effective resolution of commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management- Lead and develop the Quantity Surveyor (QS) team by setting clear objectives and driving high performance.
- Mentor and motivate team members to achieve departmental and project goals.
- Oversee project profit and loss performance, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
- Establish, implement, and monitor robust QS, contract administration, and cost control systems.
- Review and analyze project costing, including inter-project and inter-company cost allocations, to optimize financial performance.
- Negotiate, draft, and administer a wide range of construction contracts.
- Take ownership of project cost and contractual settlements, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
- Resolve contractual and cost-related issues in collaboration with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Apply strong knowledge of construction law and contract management principles to mitigate risks and safeguard company interests.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide commercial advice to support informed decision-making at project and management levels.
- Proven experience in negotiating, drafting, and administering diverse construction contracts.
- Strong knowledge of construction law, contract management principles, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction commercial/contract management roles.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
