Job Purpose:
To lead procurement operations for lifestyle and personal care FMCG products, ensuring strategic sourcing, optimal supplier partnerships, cost-efficiency, and uninterrupted product availability to support rapid and dynamic market demand.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and engage suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods aligned with brand and quality standards.
- Vendor Management: Build long-term relationships with domestic and international vendors to ensure consistent supply, quality assurance, and competitive pricing.
- Cost Optimization: Continuously analyze spend data and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality or brand integrity.
- Demand Planning Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand accurately and align procurement plans accordingly.
- Sustainability & Compliance: Source materials and products that meet sustainability goals and comply with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, BIS, FSSAI if applicable).
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms, pricing, lead times, and service levels to secure the best value for the business.
- Inventory Oversight: Collaborate with supply planners to maintain optimal inventory levels, reduce stockouts or overstocking.
- Innovation Support: Partner with R&D and NPD (New Product Development) teams to source innovative materials and suppliers that align with upcoming product launches.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated on market trends, commodity pricing, and competitor sourcing strategies.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a procurement team, driving efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5–8 years of procurement experience, preferably in FMCG or lifestyle/personal care segments.
- Proven success in strategic sourcing and vendor development in fast-paced markets.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycles and retail dynamics in FMCG.
- Proficiency with procurement and ERP tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
